A little more about M RV Resort
“M” RV Resort is a family owned and operated resort located 7 miles north of Moore Haven on Hwy 27, and just a short distance from Lake Okeechobee. Enjoy the best of both worlds – the Florida Sunshine and the peaceful, natural setting of south central Florida.
Mother Nature has blessed the Lake Okeechobee area with spectacular fishing and endangered species of birds. The countryside is spacious, uncongested, lined with ranches, orange groves, antique shops and offers a small town feeling. You’ll want to come back to again and again. You’ll feel welcome at our 75 acre ranch where you can relax on a spacious site and enjoy our amenities. Sites are available within close proximity to the heated swimming pool and community center or in more secluded areas for privacy, or for the convenience of campers with pets. Leisure or tournament fishing and golfing is only minutes away. For a day of shopping or sitting on the beach, a one hour drive will take you to Ft. Myers or drive east to Palm Beach.
M RV Resort also boasts our own fishing ponds on site! The Management rumors 10 pound bass out of these ponds, (catch and release). Guess you’ll have to come and see for yourself. We also offer many amenities and activities year round as well! So if you enjoy the outdoors, and a host of outdoor activities, M RV Resort should be your winter destination this year!

About the Okeechobee Area
Moore Haven is located on the southwest shoreline of Lake Okeechobee. Locally referred to as The Lake or The Big O, it is the largest freshwater lake in the state of Florida. It is the seventh largest freshwater lake in the United States and the second largest freshwater lake contained entirely within the lower 48 states. Lake Okeechobee covers 1,900 square kilometers (730 sq mi), approximately half the size of the state of Rhode Island, and is exceptionally shallow for a lake of its size, with an average depth of only 3 meters (9 feet). The lake is divided between Glades, Okeechobee, Martin, Palm Beach, and Hendry counties. All five counties meet at one point near the center of the lake.
Lake Okeechobee is nationally recognized as supporting high quality largemouth bass and black crappie fisheries. The lake also supports a commercial fishery dominated by catfish species. However, the commercial fishery is also nationally unique in that a limited entry fishery (ten nets) exists for haul seine gear which is permitted to legally harvest and sell bluegill and redear sunfish. Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail
Designated as a segment of the Florida National Scenic Trail, this trail circles the second largest freshwater lake in the contiguous United States. The trail itself is located atop the Herbert Hoover Dike, which surrounds the lake for flood protection, and provides views ranging from scenic lakeside to working agricultural landscapes. It also takes users near and through communities that are at the heart of agriculture in this part of the state, such as Clewiston and Belle Glade. The area affords opportunities for viewing wildlife, particularly in fall and winter, when birds such as herons, egrets, and a variety of wintering waterfowl are abundant. And of course, fishing opportunities are endless.
